Impeachment Should End (President Biden)

President Joe Biden said the United States should end impeachment of the president. Biden, who is just days away from the end of his term, made the remarks in his final address to the nation on Wednesday.

“The Constitution should be amended to make it clear that no president who commits a crime while in office will be impeached. The power of the presidency is not absolute. And it shouldn’t be,” Biden said.

The Supreme Court ruled in 2024 that then-President Trump could not be prosecuted for his efforts to influence the 2020 election. The special counsel’s report on the matter also said that if Trump were not reelected, he could be prosecuted for crimes.

In his farewell address, Biden, who is preparing to hand over power to Donald Trump, who was re-elected in November 2024, also said that power is a concern for a small group of wealthy people. President Biden said that if the power is in the hands of the richest people in the world, there will be no way to stop the abuse of power. In his farewell address, President Joe Biden said that a small group of powerful people threatens democracy, fundamental rights and freedoms in the United States.
