The HTS rebel group, which has won the war in Syria, is evicting its fighters and their families from affordable housing for former dictator Bashar al-Assad.
The Muadamiyat al-Sham housing complex, which consists of dozens of buildings and houses hundreds of people, was built for former Assad government officials and is one of many to be evicted.
The displacement comes as the Syrian army is being restructured and former Assad soldiers are being demobilized.
The rebel groups, which have lived in rural areas for years and suffered from hunger, are rapidly transforming the lives of their people, as they watch the fortunes of the groups that have the upper hand in the Syrian conflict change dramatically.
The names of the new HTS members are written in large letters at the entrance of the building, which also drives out the existing residents.
